Quality Manager

Quality Control
- Manage the quality control functions at all sites. Ensure that quality labs at all facilities are properly staffed and equipped.
- Coordinate training of new quality control / assurance personnel or back-up personnel.
- Check the quality of work performed by all QC labs as well as by in-line testing process
- Ensure that routine & non-routine chemical, microbiological and physical analysis of products manufactured at all facilities is performed in timely and accurate manner
- Ensure that Quarterly and Annual samples are sent out in a timely manner for special tests such as heavy metals, residual solvents, pesticides, etc., and review test results obtained
- Ensure that analytical documentation is in good order at each site, including computerized records.
- Develop new testing methods as required. Revise and improve existing testing methodologies if required.
- Manage Certificate of Analysis programs at all facilities
- Ensure that all required special reports are sent to customers/ HQ in a timely manner.
- Manage sample retention programs at each site
- Work with senior management, purchasing personnel etc. on new vendor approval.
- Plan and set up quality duties, as required, including writing of Quality Operating Procedures, performance & review of mock recalls, plant sanitation,
Internal inspections and audits, HACCP procedure updates, writing of test methods, customer contact regarding problems, etc.
Quality Improvement
- Lead quality improvement programs at all facilities
- Conduct quality audits together with Quality Systems Coordinators and third-party auditors at each plant, esp. AIB / FPA-SAFE and ISO certifications where relevant
- Perform detailed investigations of non-conforming product deviations and customer inquiries, determine root causes and monitor corrective actions put in place for effectiveness. Report to customers and senior management on root cause and corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare historical analysis of Customer Inquiries, with trends identified, and review with management in order to establish long-term corrective actions, and continual improvement.
- Ensure that required quality and food safety standards are continually improved, to meet current and future customer and regulatory requirements
Audit Conformance
- Train and prepare the quality team at each plant on audit handling procedures. These include customer, third party as well as regulatory audits.
- Be a resource for the teams before, during and after these audits.
